. . . That our association started out as the Association of Collegiate
Alumnae in 1881. In 1889 the membership welcomed the Western
Association of Collegiate Alumnae and in 1921 the Southern Association
of Collegiate Women joined the group. It was then that the
combined organizations took the name American Association of American Women.
Now we have nearly 90,000 members in more than 1000 branches.
