AAUW Members Mary Lynn Pelican (left) and Kathy Garfinkle (right) with three Tech Trek graduates. Children discovering how to build a better bridge. Do vibrations make noise? These children and their adult helper found out in one of the Discovery Day classes. These girls and their adult assistant unearthed the mystery of electrical circuits.
Mother and daughter enjoyed working on kitchen chemistry at the day-long, hands on event. Levers and pulleys revealed their secrets to a mom and her interested daughter Our youngest presenter, 14-year-old freshman Ritwika Mitra of Irvington High School introduced the girls to graviy-defying frogs These girls tackled tangrams (Chinese Puzzles) in a day devoted to making math and science fun and understandable.
